FREE pet tags for Omaha-area residents!
Did you know the vast majority of pets at the Nebraska Humane Society arrive as strays and are never reclaimed? A collar and tag with your current contact information is an easy way to make sure good Samaritans can get your beloved family member back to you quickly if they ever get loose, skipping a trip to the Humane Society altogether!
The goal of this initiative is two-fold: to make sure lost pets in the Omaha area are reunited with their families quickly and easily, and to decrease the number of stray pets ending up in the shelter system. Get your free green tag and get 'em home, Omaha!
Why just the Omaha area?
Get 'Em Home is self-funded by a couple of Omaha residents who simply want to see more pets back with their families and less pets sitting in a kennel at the shelter. With our limited resources, we can make the biggest impact by focusing solely on our own community.
The tags are really FREE?!
YES! We'll engrave and mail a tag to anyone in the Omaha area at no cost. If you have the means and would like to help us get more tags on more pets, you're welcome to chip in. Here's our Venmo!
Why are all the tags green?
Green looks good on pets of all shapes, sizes, colors, and breeds. And it's easier to pick one color than to manage an entire inventory.
Do you make tags in-person?
Not yet, but we'd like to! Our setup is mobile and we'd love to make tags for our neighbors at events in the community. Let us know if you have connections at farmer’s markets, neighborhood celebrations, etc.!
